Mondraute

The moon, the garden and herbs through the year – a book of days by candlelight

Every day

Each morning you break a wax seal and the day opens: moon phase and sign, feast days and old weather days, a short guide for house and garden, and a herb, a stone, a candle and a card to turn over. Old herbal lore, told honestly – every entry says whether it is old tradition or modern practice.

Mondraute is the German name of the moonwort, a small fern with crescent-shaped leaflets that folk belief held to be a magic herb.
